Pacific Biodiesel acquires Big Island Biodiesel, consolidates in Hawaii

July 12, 2015 |

In Hawaii, Pacific Biodiesel Technologies has acquired Big Island Biodiesel, LLC, and BIB became a wholly owned subsidiary of PBT as of July 1, 2015. The move unites all members in our effort to expand biodiesel production in Hawaii and “continue to decrease the state’s dependency on imported fossil fuel,” the company said.

Pacific Biodiesel president Robert King noted it is fitting to expand membership in Pacific Biodiesel in his company’s 20th anniversary year. PBT’s newest members now join the oldest and most experienced biodiesel business in America.

“It will be easier to run as one company,” stated PBT President Robert King. “But it is equally important to have BIB investors become part of the many projects Pacific Biodiesel is involved with. There is so much related activity, and all projects are integral to a sustainable future for our island community.”
