FAO DG says food vs fuel a “false dichotomy”

In Ethiopia, as part of the Finance for Development conference that’s going on in Addis Ababa this week, FAO Director General Jose Graziano DA Silva wrote an analysis in a local newspaper promoting the need to produce both food and fuel, calling the alleged competition between the two a “false dichotomy”. He said policymakers could find a way to boost biofuel blending when crop prices are low and lower the blend when crop prices are high.
