Ethanol margins fall by 14% to lowest in six months

July 20, 2015 |

In the Midwest, Platts estimates that ethanol margins fell by nearly 14% last week to 34.35 cents/gal to the lowest in six months and the third week in a row margins have fallen, due to higher feedstock costs and lower ethanol prices. Corn prices were higher but DDGS prices also reached a four-week high, helping to ease the collapse in ethanol prices over more than 4% on the week.
