Zimbabwe may get ethanol boost from potential cassava distillery

In Zimbabwe, the energy ministry says negotiations are in an advanced stage with a company who wishes to set up a cassava-based ethanol plant in  Mashonaland Central to help the country continue to blend ethanol but reduce dependency on sugarcane as the only feedstock. The project has not yet sought licensing from the Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority, which is unaware of the project.
