Hindustan Petroleum launches B5 at pumps in three cities

In India, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation launched B5 at pumps in New Delhi, Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad in celebration of World Biofuels Day. The government has been heavily promoting ethanol production and consumption nationally but the push from biodiesel has been much slower, hampered by policy that kept blenders and retailers from accessing biodiesel, pushing the fuel onto the export market. Now that the policies are relaxing, companies such as HPCL are taking up the call to blend biodiesel.
