In Vietnam, the prime minister wants all hands on deck to help boost consumption of E5 and E10 at the pump, even if it means cutting prices. Though an implementation plan has been in effect since 2012, uptake has been slow because responsible ministries haven’t worked to inform consumers about the new fuels nor the science behind them. Therefore the PM is demanding a national campaign to raise awareness in order to boost consumption and has ordered the finance ministry to look at how to lower taxes on E5 and E10.
