India to allow corn farmers to produce their own ethanol

In India, the prime minster announced farmers will soon be permitted to produce their own ethanol from corn, with key corn growing-state Punjab seen as one of the first areas to take advantage of the deregulation. Talks have already begun with a few local technology manufacturers who could provide facilities to farmers that are cost effective, allowing farmers to get more value out of their crop. The central government will approve the final rule soon.
