FGVH targeted by NGOs with claims of modern slavery

In Malaysia, Felda Global Ventures is being targeted by NGOs making accusations of modern slavery against the company and its palm oil production. They are allegedly seeking out buyers of FGVH’s palm oil and trying to dissuade them from supplying from the company. FGVH has denied recent reports in the Wall Street Journal accusing the company of non-payment of wages and forced labor. The campaign follows earlier accusations of deforestation, peat destruction, animal rights and indigenous rights abuses, among others.
