Bolivian UCO biodiesel producer making headway with industrial consumers

October 22, 2015 |

In Bolivia, local UCO biodiesel producer Bioma has sold more than 250,000 liters of biodiesel and is producing an average of 7,000 liters a week. The fuel is sold at a 20% discount to fossil diesel. Currently there are several filling stations along the main road in La Paz where the public can buy biodiesel at the pump while the company is also catering directly to more than 80 industrial consumers by delivering the fuel to their own fueling sites. The company says it hasn’t received any assistance from the government, only counting on the support of local businesses.
