US ethanol production dips to 14.61 billion gallon rate
According to EIA data as analyzed by the Renewable Fuels Association, ethanol production averaged 969,000 barrels per day (b/d)—or 40.70 million gallons daily. That is up 25,000 b/d from the week before and a 15-week high. The four-week average for ethanol production stood at 953,000 b/d for an annualized rate of 14.61 billion gallons, just a hair below the year-to-date annualized run rate of 14.65 bg. Stocks of ethanol stood at 18.8 million barrels. That is a 2.7% increase from last week. Imports of ethanol returned for the first time in four weeks, registering at 10,000 b/d. Gasoline demand for the week averaged a robust 385.7 million gallons (9.184 million barrels) daily. Over the past four weeks, gasoline demand has averaged 9.205 million b/d, or 141.1 bg annualized. Refiner/blender input of ethanol averaged 884,000 b/d, a four-week low. Expressed as a percentage of daily gasoline demand, daily ethanol production was 10.55%.
