December 9, 2015 |

In Washington, the USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service has determined the corn designated as event MON 87403, which has been genetically engineered for increased ear biomass, is no longer considered a regulated article under its regulations governing the introduction of certain genetically engineered organisms. The agency’s determination is based on its evaluation of data submitted by Monsanto Company in its petition for a determination of nonregulated status, its analysis of available scientific data, and comments received from the public in response to the agency’s previous notices announcing the availability of the petition for nonregulated status and its associated environmental assessment and plant pest risk assessment. This notice also announces the availability of our written determination and finding of no significant impact.
