US ethanol arbitrage opportunity into Europe may be opening

In the Netherlands, European ethanol traders are looking at possible arbitrage from the US after the Euro strengthened against the Dollar following weaker energy prices across the board. A similar window opened briefly in November when T2 ethanol prices reached the highest in three years, facilitating US imports into Europe. Ethanol prices continue to fall in the US thanks to a bumper corn harvest while demand in Europe continues to increase due to a tight market with several plants still offline.
