Scania to introduce biofuel and biogas buses in 10 Indian cities in 2016

In India, following a successful trial earlier this year in Nagpur, Scania will launch biofuel and biogas buses and in 10 Indian cities in 2016. The buses will be manufactured at the company’s plant in Bengaluru. Scania’s participation in the local market has grown significantly, doubling the number of vehicles sold in 2015 over 2014, and quadrupling the number of buses. Though the company admits it has started from a low figure, selling 1,000 buses and trucks this year, that it will grow to 12,500 trucks by 2020 in addition to buses.
