Biodiesel seen having a good 2016 while other fuels suffer

In Illinois, between a favorable blending mandate under the Renewable Fuel Standard to reinstatement of the $1 per gallon blending credit, a Bloomberg analysis says that biodiesel’s star is on the rise in 2016 in comparison to other fuels from gasoline to ethanol. Prices in the Midwest have increased 11% this month thanks to the boost in demand. Production will likely ramp back up for facilities that were mothballed or running at under-capacity while the market waited for the RFS and the blending credit decisions to be taken.
