Arkansas biodiesel dream yet to come true

January 4, 2016 |

In Arkansas, Delta Bioenergy—formerly known as Farm to Fuel—is having a hard time getting off the ground due to a lack of community buy in. The project was meant to produce 200,000 gallons of UCO and camelina-based biodiesel in Arkansas County but only managed to produce 3,100 gallons this year. The fuel was mostly used on farms and by the host city of DeWitt. Plans to scale up and replicate the project in 25 communities have been set back due to low oil prices, lack of community uptake and the need for investors.
