Poland double-counting to lead to summer demand for German UCOME

January 5, 2016 |

In Poland, increased demand for double-counted waste-based biodiesel from Germany is likely to increase following the implementation of a new law on Monday. The policy falls in line with many other European countries, with demand expected to kick in around Q2 when blenders start looking at summer spec biodiesel. The current winter blend has a cold filter plugging point too low for UCOME. UCOME production in the country is still limited, which will force blenders to look at imports from the west to take advantage of the double-counting system.
