Guatemalan ethanol booked for Europe but US supplies to arrive first

January 27, 2016 |

In the Netherlands, Europe could at last see some price relief for ethanol as 5,000 cubic meters heads to Rotterdam from Guatemala, but the shipment isn’t set until May and could still be diverted to the US if the price differential works out better by then. The shipment will be the last of the year for the country as the crush winds down. The load’s GHG emissions savings have been quoted at 71%. In the meantime, as much as 40,000 cubic meters could arrive from the US East Coast into Europe before the end of March.
