NBB still pushing for producers credit over blenders credit

January 27, 2016 |

In Florida, the National Biodiesel Board says the industry needs a producers credit rather than the current blenders credit that applies to both domestic and imported biodiesel. The industry says that by ensuring the $1 per gallon only goes to domestic fuel that the subsidy isn’t inadvertently subsidizing Argentine biodiesel as well, imports have which have increased significantly over the past year. Though the NBB was close to getting the change through, having passed through the Senate in July, it didn’t make it through the conference committee with the House, so they will try again this year.
