Former NATO Sec Gen wants EU to mandate 5% advanced biofuels

In Belgium, the former head of NATO who is now advising the Danish biofuel industry wants the European Union to set a target for 5% advanced biofuel blending by 2030, despite the fuel being more expensive, saying the current non-binding 0.5% by 2020 isn’t enough to spur the investments required to transition towards even cleaner biofuels. Novozyme’s CEO would prefer a 10% blend by was OK with the 5% proposal as a pragmatic solution. Currently there are no targets for 2030.
