Queensland to host A$16 million biorefinery pilot plant

March 29, 2016 |

In Australia, Southern Oil Refining is set to develop the country’s first advanced biofuels facility in Queensland with a A$16 million pilot plant that could be scaled up to 200 million liters per year of aviation and marine biofuel for civil and military use. Bagasse will be the feedstock for the facility. The country’s premier and Queensland have been major supporters of the project. New South Wales was also a potential location for the pilot facility but apparently the regional government wasn’t as supportive as that of Queensland.
