February ethanol exports down 20% as China pulls back from the market

In New York state, ethanol exports fell more than 20% in February to 67 million gallons as China pulled back from the market, importing only half of that volume which represents just 30% of its January imports. Brazil’s imports tripled over January’s—though less than in January 2015—but it wasn’t enough to temper concerns in the market that global demand could be falling for US ethanol due to currency fluctuations and low oil prices.
