Researchers say coconut biodiesel has lower impact on lungs than fossil diesel

In Australia, emissions from fossil diesel blended with coconut biodiesel has a markedly reduced impact on lungs than pure diesel, research from University of Queensland, Queensland University of Technology’s International Laboratory for Air Quality and Health, and The Prince Charles Hospital. Researchers exposed cells that line the bronchial tubes to B5, B20 and pure fossil diesel in the lab as part of the first experiment to look at the impacts coconut biodiesel has on lung health.
