Hydrous ethanol prices slump 13% as mills offload old stock and new

April 12, 2016 |

In Brazil, hydrous ethanol prices slumped significantly last week as the crush ramped up and brought large volumes to the market. Mills are trying to offload the last of last season’s supplies, adding to pressure on the market with prices at $1.53/gal, down 13% on top of the 10% price drop the week before. Anhydrous prices fell nearly 18% after holding fairly stead the previous week compared to hydrous. Prices should continue to fall through till the mid-crush period.
