In Iowa, the state’s entire Senate approved to extend biodiesel and ethanol blending tax credits set to expire in 2018 through to 2025 with an added incentive for higher blends of both biofuels. With uncertainty surrounding biofuels at the national level, the state-level legislation is meant to help provide the industry with more policy sustainability in order to ensure longevity and innovation thanks to a seven-year policy time horizon. The state’s pro-biofuels governor shouldn’t be an obstacle to the bill becoming law.
