Brazilian biodiesel production stable in March but ethanol soars 24%

In Brazil, biodiesel production remained stable in March at 321,000 cubic meters, bringing the quarterly total to 892,000 cu m. The country’s total installed production capacity is 7,243,000 cu m as of March, though many facilities remain mothballed due to lack of demand. The Midwest region accounts for 40% of the production capacity while the south has 38% of the capacity. Ethanol production in March, on the other hand, grew 24% on the year at 648.9 million liters while quarterly production reached 1.47 billion liters.
