March ethanol exports soar 42% on the month with China as main destination

In Washington, the Department of Commerce says March ethanol exports rose 42% over February to a 52 month high at 95.3 million gallons thanks to demand for 37 million gallons from China. Brazil was the second-largest destination with 20.7 million gallons, followed by Canada with 16.2 million gallons. Exports during the first quarter reached 249.4 million gallons. China’s demand remains a major driver for reaching 1 billion gallons of exports in 2016 with exports during Q1 reaching 75.2 million gallons compared to 70 million gallons during all of 2015.
