Argentina convinces Spain to open market back up to biodiesel

May 12, 2016 |

In Argentina, the government has come to an agreement with Spain to resume biodiesel exports to the country following a block that was meant to help support the domestic industry and keep cheaper Argentine product from flooding the market. The trade block came after Argentina appropriated the local branch of Spanish energy giant Repsol, YPF, in 2013. The move is being attributed to work by the new Argentine ambassador to Madrid and his team for successfully negotiating the policy shift.
