Karnataka to run 1,700 public buses on B20 with eye on total fleet conversion

May 31, 2016 |

In India, Karnataka’s public transport system will have 1,700 buses running on B20 as of June 5 following a successful trial last year running 10 buses on the blend. A biodiesel company in Telangana will supply the company 4.1 million liters of fuel for the buses. In the future, the bus company plans to run its entire fleet of 8,400 buses on B20. Biodiesel is also providing savings of 7 cents per liter. Should the ramp up be successful, the country’s three other major bus companies will begin running on the higher blend as well.
