Smaller fueling stations in Australia concerned about impacts of E10 mandate

June 1, 2016 |

In Australia, the fuel service station sector is getting nervous about an expected policy that would require smaller stations to sell E10. Currently the policy is only required for larger stations, which account for about 30% of the total 1,978 fueling sites around the country. The 70% of the stations that are currently exempted from selling the blend are mostly smaller mom and pop shops that would have to invest around A$140,000 in infrastructure, but critics say that represents 100% of the average profit these stations make for more than two years.
