New Energy Investors back to the drawing board for $150 million cellulosic project

June 7, 2016 |

In North Dakota, New Energy Investors have been sent back to the drawing table to re-work plans to develop a $150 million project to produce 13 million gallons of ethanol from corn stover and wheat straw located next to the Dakota Spirit AgEnergy corn ethanol facility. The promoters were seeking a $225,000 grant from the North Dakota Agricultural Products Utilization Committee to further develop the project’s feasibility study but the committee felt the proposal needed to be tightened up. NEI will resubmit for the July grant funding period.
