June 20, 2016 |

In Brazil, the Ministry of Mines and Energy has created a working group to study and monitor opportunities to expand the biodiesel blending mandate, currently at 7%. The announcement was published in the federal gazette on Friday. The group will perform tests and tests on higher biodiesel blends, with tests for 10% by March 23, 2017 and another two years to study 15% blends. The country’s biodiesel industry is currently operating at below 50% installed production capacity due to lack of demand.
