In Oregon, Global Partners may begin transloading ethanol later this month at the Columbia Pacific Bio-Refinery at Port Westward. The company wound up its crude oil transloading operations in January to prepare for the switch to ethanol transport, while 107 inspections from federal and state agencies along with the Coast Guard have taken place to ensure the safety of the upgraded facility. Fuel transportation is under increased scrutiny following a recent crude oil derailment in the region.
