NRDC releases 2016 Aviation Biofuel Sustainability Scorecard

In Washington, the National Resource Defense Council has released its 2016 Aviation Biofuel Sustainability Scorecard with six airlines falling under the “leading category”: KLM/Air France, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Scandinavian Airlines, South African Airways and United Airlines. Other airlines were categorized by advancing, basic and nonresponsive. Included in the scoring was how airlines address ILUC concerns while they were also asked if they were advocating governments towards positive biofuel policy frameworks, though that didn’t count towards scoring. All but one airline responded that it was.
