US ethanol production rises to 15.27 billion gallon annual clip

In Washington, according to EIA data as analyzed by the Renewable Fuels Association, ethanol production averaged 1.003 million barrels per day (b/d)—or 42.13 million gallons daily. That is up 41,000 b/d from the week before. The four-week average for ethanol production stood at 996,000 b/d for an annualized rate of 15.27 billion gallons. Stocks of ethanol stood at 21.2 million barrels. That is a 0.3% increase from last week. Imports of ethanol were 26,000 b/d. This is the first showing of imports in 2016 and breaks the streak of no imports over 27 straight weeks. Gasoline demand for the week averaged 407.8 million gallons (9.709 million barrels) daily. Refiner/blender input of ethanol averaged 951,000 b/d.Expressed as a percentage of daily gasoline demand, daily ethanol production was 10.33%.
