New Mexican scientist to revamp defunct ethanol plant into biorefinery

In New Mexico, a scientist has purchased the defunct ethanol plant in Tucumcari with the intention of creating a biorefinery that will integrate waste-to-energy from agricultural and municipal waste resources, biofuel production, dairy farming, feedlots and greenhouse farming. The project will ramp up by revamping the corn processing facilities for animal feed and converting the ethanol facilities to biogas production. The facility will integrate solar and wind power as well as take advantage of hydrogen production from the methane.
