July 7, 2016 |

In France, a new joint report by the OECD and FAO estimate that biodiesel production and demand will both grow by 14% between now and 2020, fueled by blending mandates in a number of countries from the European Union to the US and Indonesia. Production is expected to grow to 37.9 billion liters in 2020 while consumption will slightly outweigh production at 38.1 billion liters. Feedstocks are expected to remain heavily dominated by vegetable oil though waste feedstocks will continue to grow in popularity primarily in the US and EU by 53% to 4.4 billion liters.
