This week, the US Department of Energy released its 20here.16 Billion-Ton Report: Advancing Domestic Resources for a Thriving Bioeconomy, and said that 1.2 billion tons of biomass would be available at $40 or less per ton by 2040, and 1 billion tons would be available by 2030.
The major shift in the Assessment, compared to 2011. This time around, the focus has shifted from solely the cost of biomass at the farm gate to the Delivered price.
Multiple speakers at the DOE Bioenergy 2016 conference event commented on the Report or presented slides from the assessment. These images are taken from the Report itself, which can be accessed in full here.
