US ethanol production hits new 4-week record

According to EIA data as analyzed by the Renewable Fuels Association, US ethanol production averaged 1.004 million barrels per day—or 42.17 million gallons daily. That is up 6,000 b/d from the week before. The four-week average for ethanol production stood at 1.009 million b/d—a new four-week record—for an annualized rate of 15.47 billion gallons. Stocks of ethanol stood at 20.6 million barrels. That is a 1.0% increase from last week. Imports of ethanol were 36,000 b/d, up from zero last week. It was just the third time imports have registered this year. Gasoline demand for the week averaged 409.6 million gallons (9.752 million barrels) daily. Refiner/blender input of ethanol averaged 951,000 b/d, tied for the second-highest level ever.
