More than 100 fuel retailers affected by MMP’s E30 mixup

September 1, 2016 |

In Oklahoma, more than 100 fuel retailers mistakenly received gasoline containing up to 30% ethanol from Magellan Midstream Partners instead of E10, creating chaos throughout the state but especially in the Tulsa and Oklahoma City metropolitan areas with 7-11 stations the hardest hit. Deliveries of the fuel go as far back as August 23 through Monday when the mistake was identified. Oklahoma Corporation Commission’s Petroleum Storage Tank division fuel inspectors are working with fuel retailers to identify where the product has gone and if possible return it to Magellan. The commission says that if the cars are driving fine and there is no engine warning light, then there is no problem with the vehicle due to the gas with higher ethanol content.
