In the Philippines, Metro Pacific is planning to present an MSW-to-energy project that would produce up to 40MW of power from biogas using up to one-third of metro Manila’s MSW. The company had planned to develop a 10,000 liter per day biodiesel facility with Singapore-based GGI Energy but the contract was canceled last year after GGI failed to meet certain milestones. The Metro Pacific conglomerate is aiming to develop a portfolio of 300MW of waste-to-energy projects.
