EIA sees average ethanol consumption at 930,000 bpd in 2016 and 2017

In Washington, the Energy Information Agency expects ethanol consumption average 10% this year with an average consumption of 930,000 barrels per day this year and next year, up 20,000 bpd from 2015. That compares to an expected average production of 990,000 bpd, also up 20,000 bpd from 2015, leaving 50,000 bpd available for exports. Biodiesel production has seen a major uptick in production as well, with the EIA expecting average production to be 99,000 bpd compared to 82,000 in 2015 and 102,000 bpd expected for 2017.
