Malaysian palm oil stocks fall in line with higher CPO exports

September 13, 2016 |

In Malaysia, palm oil stocks fell 17.29% to 1.46 million metric tons in August while crude oil palm stocks specifically fell more than 25% to 757,405 tons. While stocks fell, overall production of crude palm oil rose more than 7% to 1.70 million tons while palm kernel production rose nearly 10% on the month to 403,245 tons. Increased exports helped to drag down stock levels as August exports hit 1.81 million tons, nearly 31% higher than in July. Biodiesel exports fell by roughly the same amount, however, to 10,722 tons, down 36%.
