Green Fuel expanding cane area to 13,000 hectares

September 22, 2016 |

In Zimbabwe, Green Fuel is expanding its sugarcane area to up to 13,000 hectares by year’s end from the current 10,000 ha in an effort to boost production beyond its current 120 million liter capacity. Part of the expansion includes investment in irrigation to ensure better use of water. The company remains the sole licensee for the domestic ethanol market though Tongaat Hullet’s Hippo Valley is negotiating with the government to secure a license as well.
