India looking to cut ethanol prices

In India, the cabinet is looking at a policy shift for the 13-year-old ethanol-blending mandate that would see prices cut from current levels. Sugar mills and oil marketing companies remain out of sync, with the OMCs yet to float the next tender that will in turn make it more expensive for sugar mills as they will have to hang on to ethanol that will be made now until it can be lifted in April. Last year’s tender was floated in August, leaving mills stuck with supplies until December but now the situation looks even worse for mills.
