Biodiesel industry seeking B20 by 2030

October 13, 2016 |

In Brazil, the biodiesel industry is seeking government support in an effort to boost production to 18 billion liters by 2030 from the current 4 billion liters. To reach those goals, a blending mandate of 20% would be required that would in turn create $ billion in value for the soybean and fuel sectors alone. The current policy calls for 7% biodiesel blending, rising to 8% in March and to 10% in 2019. The policy suggestions were put together by Ubrabio, Abiove and Aprobio at the request of the ministry of energy and mines.
