East Coast ethanol stocks drawn down due to exports and hurricane re-supplies

October 17, 2016 |

In New York state, ongoing export demand for ethanol from New York harbor has helped to draw down the East Coast region’s stocks by 762,000 barrels during the week ending October 7. Some of the ethanol stocks headed down to Florida following delays created by Hurricane Matthew. The narrower Argo spread with New York harbor is also having an impact on supplies, as a tighter spread creates less incentive to move product from the Midwest to the East Coast.
