Obama Administration launches Sustainable Biofuels Innovation Challenge

In Washington, as part of a wide ranging policy announcement from the Obama Administration, the Department of Energy launched a Sustainable Biofuels Innovation Challenge to develop ways to produce, at scale, widely affordable, advanced biofuels for transportation and industrial applications, one of seven Innovation Challenges that highlight clean energy areas with the potential to play a significant role in achieving our global goal of deep-decarbonization. Other financing included for entrepreneurs in developing countries, further actions under Powering Africa and funding for solar power in India and El Salvador.
