Possible biodiesel tax credit extension won’t be approved this year

In Washington, although Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley has introduced a bill to extend the biodiesel blenders credit, there’s no guarantee that the legislation will be passed before year’s end when it expires. The bill Grassley put forward along with 16 co-sponsors from both parties would not just extend the $1/gallon tax credit through 2019 but would change it into a domestic producers credit so that imports like those from Argentina wouldn’t qualify as they have done until now.
