Canadian community works to ensure ethanol plants never come to their town

In Canada, in response to the final decision against development of an ethanol plant at the Port of Oshawa, local authorities and activists are teaming up to ensure that policy is in place to keep potential ethanol development from coming to the community in the future. Authorities are going so far as to take the recommendations to the provincial level to ensure that municipalities are involved in potential developments of any kind, not just ethanol, from the beginning of the process to ensure their voices are heard.
