Icahn coming under scrutiny as CVR Energy’s value doubles since election

In Washington, President Trump’s special advisor Carl Icahn is coming under closer scrutiny over potential conflict of interest because the value of his company CVR Energy has doubled since the election on the expectation that the new administration would change the Renewable Fuel Standard in favor of independent refiners. Even though as an advisor rather than a federal employee he doesn’t have to remove himself from his investments, eyes are taking a closer look at how his relationship with the White House is benefiting him and his businesses.
